Words From the Author 3…

Words From the Author 2…

I’m not much of an artist, putting together different elements is more my strength. So crafting a world, much less the people in it, visually is a bit beyond me. So, instead, we’re going to learn about our hero and his environment through his eyes. Or, rather, through his words.

Tomorrow begins the first of a sequence of entries from this hero’s journal. A full week of his entries will be posted each Sunday. And for the next three to four weeks we’ll go through his first arc, his origins if you will.

After that arc is done we’ll have a bit of reader interaction. Each week will see a week’s worth of our hero’s journal entries influenced by your decisions. I cannot promise to use every idea that gets sent to me, but I’ll probably save most of them as a possibility during future arcs.

Between scheduled post dates, I may put up sketches and other tidbits for your viewing pleasure. I also have a few other ideas I may want to explore as well in the future. You’ll only be able to find out if you stick around so I hope to see you tomorrow and each week afterwards.

 

Words From the Author 1…

As long as I’ve lived I always wanted to be a superhero. Unfortunately, I was neither rich nor exposed to radiation so no superpowers or gadgets for me. What I did have was an imagination and exercise that I did. I began with superheroes that were very close to their iconic counterparts, but eventually newer, more original characters came to the surface.

Only a few years ago I learned of a movement of Real Life Superheroes. These people didn’t go out fighting crime (usually) and didn’t have epic battles for the world. Instead, they go out and help people in need. They feel that the costume they wore, the persona they become, gave those they helped hope. Hope that a person can make a difference. I was really moved by the idea of it and was really tempted to suit up myself. Unfortunately, by then I was in no shape for such patrols.

This blog is my way to combine my imagination’s desire to see superhero team-ups and super-villains and the real-world work done by the RLSH movement. I don’t honestly know what will happen over the course of this blog, but I’m looking forward to seeing my protagonist evolve.
